For Groups

One of the primary advantages of seeking support from groups, when it comes to mental health, is the realization that one is not alone in their struggles. Many individuals find comfort and validation in the shared experiences and emotions of others and thereby, this collective aspect of groups helps alleviate feelings of isolation, nurturing a sense of inclusion and affirmation.

Additionally, groups also offer a space for:

  • Offering and receiving a range of viewpoints.

  • Cultivating self-expression within a secure and non-judgemental setting.

  • Encouraging empathy, compassion and understanding.

  • Cultivating a sense of ownership and commitment to personal development.

  • Developing effective coping mechanisms by navigating challenges collectively.

At Dramatically Yours Dramatherapy, we offer groups - either as group therapy or support groups, which are tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of its participants, over a fixed period of time.

Group Therapy

Group therapy serves the purpose of fostering self-awareness to facilitate positive changes in one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that warrant attention.

This transformative process occurs within a group dynamic, enabling diverse perspectives and mutual support from individuals navigating comparable challenges.

Typically led by one or two therapists, group therapy sessions maintain a small participant count. These sessions commonly adhere to a structured schedule, convening weekly over a defined period, typically spanning 6-8 weeks and work through a structured program.

Support Groups

Support groups are particularly effective in addressing issues and obstacles that are beyond one's control, necessitating additional assistance in managing life challenges beyond the support offered by friends and family.

Typically, these groups convene on a regular basis, often weekly or bi-monthly, following an ongoing schedule. While these sessions are typically overseen by either a therapist or a peer, they are not structured around a specific program. The therapist may recommend additional individual treatments that would occur outside the group setting.
